Hello there! My name is Matt Rush, a marine biology student currently attending UCLA. I just recently finished my Marine Biology Quarter, and I’ve found the whole experience inspiring, opening my eyes to the endless possibilities of learning about marine life. I’ve always wanted to explore the oceans since I was a kid.
I’m not only interested in marine life, but life itself. Whenever I can, I volunteer at the animal shelter near my house, looking after pets that have been abandoned by their owners. I hope that by spending time with them, I get to be a part of their healing process, both physically and emotionally. I’m passionate about taking care of all kinds of animals, but researching about life under the sea would be my favorite thing to do.
I split my days studying and working at Trader Joe’s. Having a job helps when one thinks about paying their student loans in the future. I enjoy the moment I have in all the places I go to, and I look forward to learning new things about life and advocating for a healthier environment.
